Brief Book Review: “Perelandra”, by C.S. Lewis

Probably better for the majority of it than “Out of the Silent Planet”, though the first book had the better climax for sure. Still, some of Weston’s dialogue with the Lady (an innocent Eve-type) was positively bone-chilling, and made for some very tense scenes that weren’t really present in “OotSP”

I didn’t mind the ending…at first. But Lewis stretched it way, way too long. Cut out about half of it, better still cut it down to maybe three or four pages, and it’s perfectly fine. As it was, I really just stopped caring after a while and was just waiting to see when something else would happen…and then the book ended. Ah well.

Still, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Now starting “That Hideous Strength”.
