A few thoughts:
1) This just confirmed for me a long held and unpopular opinion: The book Watson was always a bit of a doormat and not too bright (though in certain cases he showed a couple flashes). The episodes were incredibly accurate, and that’s how he came off. Martin Freeman remains by far the best interpretation.
2) FINALLY, an accurate version of “A Scandal in Bohemia”. A perfect episode with a perfect portrayal of Irene Adler.
3) Brett is clearly the most accurate portrayal of Holmes I’ve seen, but even he portrays Holmes with more nastiness than I read him in the stories.
4) Brett’s disguises were really amazing.
More thoughts to come later.
